Licensed Real Estate Salesperson
Real estate is a heart plus a home. This is what Thorton (everyone calls him Thor) learned around the kitchen table as child in a NYC real estate family. Floor plans were his coloring books and pro formas, his math puzzles. Some of Thor’s best memories are of him helping his mother stage homes or flipping houses with his father.
During his formative years, Thor apprenticed under a property investor and learned real estate analysis off the back of napkins. After college, he taught abroad for a while then had the opportunity to be an asset manager. He ended up helping a lot of people who went underwater on their mortgages during the Great Recession. Since then, he started a few small businesses while pursuing a career in education. Thor is still a teacher even though he has returned to real estate—his first love.
He does not believe in “always be closing” salesmanship, but rather educating clients with thorough research on both the listing and the market. He often shares real estate secrets like using a marble to see if a floor is level or using a dollar bill shut in doors and windows to check for air leaks. These tricks of the trade spare clients time, money and stress.
It pains Thor to see how others in the industry get over on renters and buyers who are making the most important investment decisions in their lives. Thor is currently finishing his master’s in wealth management/ financial planning, so he will be certified as a fiduciary accountable to both his clients and his conscience.
If you need help finding a home for your heart (and a really great deal on a Classic 6 in the heart of Manhattan or a bohemian pied-à- terre in the latest Brooklyn hot spot), please contact Thor. It would be his privilege and pleasure.
