With the best places'' rapid turnover from online listing to showing to signing, the competition between renters for places, the need to weed through some landlords'' misleading advertising, and the nuances of rent stabilization schemes, the nyc rental market is a beast no one should handle on their own if they don''t have to unless they want to end up in an overpriced dump. Devin educated me on the process months in advance, told me what to expect online, and helped me develop a plan of action for when the time would come to lock down a place. Without his guidance, I would not have gotten started as early as I did, and I might not have found the killer deal I have. He responded to all communications professionally and promptly and honestly just looked out for me as a client - qualities it turns out are not so easy to come by in this scene. Finding an apartment in NYC was challenging, as I was out of town, the market was unfamiliar to me, and I had a limited idea of good values/options/timeframes.
